Page 1 of 2 We have spent the past year serving in and learning about our adopted community, looking specifically for needs that are not being met and formulating a Community Connection Plan. The need to volunteer and for volunteers First, we have heard from many expatriates that they are unfulfilled. After having retired and spent time doing whatever they desire, they realize that they need to serve somebody or something outside of themselves. They are looking for places to spend their time and energy.
Having spent the last year serving many of the nonprofits in PV, we saw and heard from the directors of these nonprofits that they need more volunteers. These volunteers don’t need to be experienced. They just need to have open hearts and hands to serve those less fortunate.
Secondly, we believe that the various faith communities need a vehicle and structure to make it easy for followers to serve outside their faith communities. Many believers have a desire to serve, but do not know where or how. Thus we hope that they will find the freedom to join our network of compassion and thus use us as an outlet for their compassion ministries.
